Although most paid, off-campus students choose to return to state university during distance learning at Penn State University, some do not.

In fact, all three of my roommates chose to stay at home and let me fend for myself in our apartment. Why, you might ask? Because they live in sunny Florida, Texas or almost anywhere else, because it is better than the cruel State University Tundra.

It was an extremely realistic (and lonely day) day in the life of one of our employees without roommates.

When I was happy to return to Pennsylvania State University, when I received a warning message in our apartment GroupMe, my future began to bleak.

Therefore, before going to bed every night, I would be anxious and uneasy, wondering if there are mice jumping around on the bed. At least I will never be truly alone!

Fast forward a few days and learn about a typical day step by step.

I woke up at 9:20 in the morning, which was unfortunate, considering that my first class started at 9:05 in the morning, I quickly got out of bed and turned on my laptop. It's a pity that I don't have a roommate here to throw a pillow for me to wake me up.

Next, I brewed a warm cup of coffee and enjoyed it in an elegant cup bought for me by a roommate. I want you,

.

I have watched Zoom lectures all morning. Although not particularly exciting, I enjoy listening without headphones because I am lonely.

In the morning, I was very excited to learn the central nervous system, from night sports pants to day sports pants.

Then I made myself some peanut butter toast and ate it quietly on my empty table.

So far, I have not interacted with one person. I called my good friend and Onward State social media editor,

For a Starbucks run. Since I haven't left the apartment for 24 hours, I am glad to see the daylight.

One of the only benefits of being alone in the apartment is that you can take a nap anywhere, any place, which is acceptable.

I quickly lay on the sofa for three hours. For some reason, I had convinced myself that rats would not come out to play during the day, so I could sleep peacefully.

I consider attending work hours because my professors

You need to pay to interact with me, but sometimes you just need to take a nap!

After being lazy for several hours, I gathered up my energy to do daily Adeline Yoga. Obviously, I have never left the yoga, tiger king and banana bread quarantine stages.

All day long, all my belongings fell on my roommate's desk. There are three empty tables in the room, and I can carry things with me!

After an hour in the shower (because I can), I prepared dinner, this time sitting in a different seat to increase my life. I~I am learning to be my best friend~

In remote areas, the first priority of living alone is to be able to throw your tableware into the sink instead of washing the dishes. When your roommate is your reflection, politeness is not a matter. Food is a "tomorrow" issue.

I finished my homework very early, so I thought a friend of mine could accompany me. Unfortunately, besides hanging out with me, people have other plans.

Alexa, play "driver's license".

I ended my night by watching a real crime show, which is literally the worst thing about living alone.

Therefore, I locked the front door twice with the precision equipment bought by my roommate’s mother to avoid murder in my sleep. #justgirlythings, haha.

I set six alarms because no one is angry when no one wakes up in the morning. In the end, I unconsciously scrolled on the computer for several hours before finally crashing.

Good night, from the perspective of my non-existent roommate.

Seriously, I never thought that I would spend my college career on Zoom, live alone in an empty apartment, or take pictures of my daily work. However, life is like this, I have learned to appreciate small victories-like no need to wear clothes in class and pee with the door open.

From riding a white circle to swimming with HUB fish, these Zoom backgrounds can make Penn State's interesting spinning methods appear in speeches.
