CCA’s Creative Writing Club announces 10th Annual CCA Writers’ Conference and special anthology - Encinitas Advocate

The Creative Writing Club of Canyon Top College recently announced the date of the 10th Annual CCA Writers Conference. The event will be held online within four days of February 20th and February 20th and March 6th and 7th 2021. This event is the country's only free writing conference for middle school students.

CCA Creative Writing Club Chairman Sophie Camilleri said: "After the successful virtual conference last year, we are pleased to announce that the 10th anniversary conference will also be held online. This allows us not only in San Diego, but also to attract more people across the country. High school student."

To celebrate its tenth conference, the club is publishing a collection of short stories by speakers and students who attended the conference in the past. The stories of the students will be chosen by writers Nancy Holder and Greg van Eekhout.

“Thousands of young writers have participated in the Canyon Crest Academy Writers Workshop and it is great to see them show their talents and imagination to a wider audience,” Van Eckhout said. To the intermediate level, including his latest science fiction adventure film "The Dog's Journey". His work was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Short Story and the Andre Norton Award for Best Science Fiction.

Holder is the best-selling dark fantasy and horror writer of The New York Times. She has sold more than 80 novels and 200 short stories, essays and articles, and has won five Bram Stoker awards from the Horror Writers Association and many other honors.

The invitation submission email has been sent to all previous student participants, but some addresses are invalid. Students who were previously interested in participating in the anthology should email ccawritersconference@gmail.com for more information.

In order to continue to provide this free experience to high school students, the CCA Creative Writing Club is looking for personal and corporate sponsors. Individuals can sponsor students for as low as $25, or become a gold sponsor at a higher price. Sponsors can send an email to ccawritersconference@gmail.com for more information on how to donate.

The mysterious Galaxy Bookstore will sell anthologies and speakers' books, and use part of the proceeds for the conference.

The 10th CCA Annual Writers Conference will be held online from February 20 to 21, from 10 am to 4 pm, and from March 6 to 7, 2021. This activity is only for high school students and is free. Registration is required.
