CIAA announced the 2020 John B. McLendon Hall of Fame, which includes Hooper, the greatest woman ever.

 The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the oldest black sports conference in the United States, is proud to announce the 2021 John B. McLendon Hall of Fame course.

CIAA recognizes outstanding contributions to the conference, significant contributions to the community, leadership of the CIAA athletics, and commitment to the mission of the conference, and recognizes the finalists. There were six candidates for this year’s course. They received 40 years of praise throughout the conference, including Cassie King (North Carolina Central University), Kenny Phillips (Fayetteville State University), Johnny Stoutamire, Jr. Livingstone College), Greg Toler (St. Paul College), Celeste Trahan-Davis (Elizabeth City State University) and Johnny Walton (Johnny Wall Dayton) (Elizabeth City State University).

The 2021 John B. McLendon CIAA Hall of Fame course will be celebrated with a virtual speech, which will be broadcast on the CIAA Sports Network on Friday, February 26. This event will be part of the event schedule including the CIAA virtual tournament experience to be held from February 23 to 27, 2021. Details on how to participate in the virtual experience will be announced at a later time.

Since its establishment in 1967, the CIAA Hall of Fame has awarded 293 winners. It was renamed in 2000 by legendary coach and administrator John B. McLendon. McLendon was a Hall of Fame inductee in 1978 and is also considered one of the ancestors of the CIAA Basketball Championship, which began in 1946.

King has played in North Carolina Central University since 2004-07. She has been selected to the CIAA three times (2005-07), four times to the CIAA Championship (2004-07), and was selected to the CIAA rookie team. year 2004. She was selected to the South Atlantic Regional Team for three times (2005-07), and was selected as an honorary nomination for the WBCA Americas Team (2005-07) for three consecutive seasons.

In the 2004-05 season, King broke the NCCU's single-season scoring record, scoring 664 points (22.9 points per game), and set a record of 59 points per game in the school and the CIAA Championship in the same season. In his senior year, King scored only 26 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks in the game against Fayetteville State University, setting the second triple-double in NCCU program history and helping lead the Eagles to 23 years. The first CIAA championship.

In four seasons, King scored 44 doubles, scoring a total of 2,150 points and 1,076 rebounds, ranking fifth in CIAA history, scorer and sixth. King became NCCU's historical scoring leader and second rebounder. King became only the second CIAA player and ranked 15th in the history of NCAA Division II women's basketball. He accumulated 2000 points and 1000 rebounds in his career.
