Retired Highlands Ranch Couple Makes Desks for Children Who Are Remote Learning

Don and Deb Lewis from Colorado Highland Ranch are retired and busy. They spend all day making and donating desks for children in need. Although most students have experienced

"Children like to have a place that belongs to them, and sitting at the kitchen table, it's not theirs," Don Lewis said.

, Don and Deb have been married for 45 years and have known each other since kindergarten. During the quarantine, they had too much time. On social media

Since its establishment, Don and Deb has used his hands and money to make more than 40 desks for children. The 6-year-old student thanked Don and Deb for their generosity.

"Who would have thought that something as simple as a small wooden desk could comfort so many children and parents?" Deb and Don Lewis did.
