TalkTalk boosts fibre pledge with new exec role

In order to fulfill its commitment to all-fiber connectivity, TalkTalk Group appointed Ruth Kennedy as the newly established Group Optical Fiber Development Director.

This role is part of TalkTalk Group's ongoing commitment to enable more companies and communities to "achieve a leap in all-fiber connectivity."

Kennedy has been in this business since 2011 and will be responsible for cooperating with suppliers as the group is committed to developing "new all-fiber solutions", and the group said it will include "alternative network fiber strategies."

TalkTalk stated that Kennedy will lead a growing team and work with other functional departments across the team to develop such solutions to ensure that feedback from suppliers and customers is always absorbed.

Talking about her appointment, Ruth said: “It’s really an exciting time to take up a new position at TalkTalk. Getting fast, secure and reliable connections has never been more important than now. That’s why It’s important for individuals to accelerate the launch of fiber optics. With the help of expert partners and suppliers, TalkTalk is improving the range of high-speed connectivity solutions to power businesses and communities."

Kennedy, who has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, previously served as the Group Business Development Director at TalkTalk, establishing strategic supplier and business partnerships, and providing support for new business opportunities. Prior to this, she has been working in various industries, helping to develop the TalkTalk Business team and gaining a deep understanding of the organization's strategic goals.

Outside of the group, Ruth is the vice chairman of the Green Corridor, a professional education charity for young people with special educational needs and no education, employment or training (NEET) Young people to provide support.
