Hoyts, one of the world’s largest cinema exhibitors, has announced the reopening of cinemas in Australia from today, noting that it will continue to proceed with caution and adopt a phased approach to ensure that they are consistent with the latest updates on COVID-19. It is recommended to align the security measures of the governments of New South Wales, the Capital Region, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Southwest Australia.

Hoyts has made progress in preparation to ensure that guests and team members are in the safest environment. These measures include additional staff training, staff temperature checks, additional cleaning procedures, movie theater seating separation, encouragement of online bookings and social evacuation.

After the successful opening of the HOYTS cinema in New Zealand in early June, the Australian cinema reopened.

Dining facilities will be available, and guests can choose to order tickets, food and drinks in advance through the Hoyts app (Google Play and Apple Store) and the website.

Damian Keogh, Chief Executive Officer and President of Hoyt, said: "We are very pleased to open the door for the school holiday in time and welcome guests to return to the HOYTS experience and receive $10 tickets for selected movies."

New blockbuster releases to be screened in the coming weeks include Russell Crowe’s "No Heart", the romantic comedy "Broken Mind" gallery, Jared Apato’s latest comedy "The King of Staten Island", and Disney’s live-action version Mulan, Christopher Nolan’s epic "Tenet", thriller "New Mutant", comedy Bill and Ted face music and so on.

The upcoming movies include those released before the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the audience's favorite Bloodshot, Bad Boys for Life (1917) and The Gentlemen, as well as many family movies that happen to be suitable for school holidays. Sonic The Hedgehog, Jumanji: The Next Level, Dolittle, Addams Family, The Call of the Wild and retro favorite Ghostbusters (1984), The Goonies, Matilda, Labyrinth, and all eight Harry Potter movies, to name a few.
