The geographical position is superior, close to the university hospital and the train station, the critical mass of the campus is approximately. 1,500 apartments and amenities introduced its first residential building into the main office area. This new campus has given birth to a catalyst for people's desire to transform from a single-function office area into a vibrant multi-functional urban area. The urbanization goal of the OurDomain campus is to introduce fundamental changes, establish new connections and promote social spaces that inspire users.

All stakeholders agree that there is a problem with the surrounding larger transition area (called Amstel III). The location is set as an office area, and the appearance is not attractive. The hospital is one of the main stakeholders in the area. Social security is the focus of attention. Many current office buildings are independent islands of creation. These islands were created by centering buildings on water and green spaces. At the same time, there are positive continuous developments, such as some start-up plans. The biggest question is: how to unify this divided area as a whole? Through the OurDomain campus planning, connections are achieved, which is the first step to further develop the entire region.

Housing problem: There is a serious shortage of housing for students and young people. In order to make this residential function possible,

In accordance with the requirements of all parties in the market, the zoning plan was modified in 2011 to allow residential units. In 2014, OZ worked with consultant Fakton, developer Blauwhoed, real estate owner LSI and investor Greystar to study the possibility of introducing a large number of apartments. The researchers investigated whether the new campus dedicated to young people next to the hospital met the demand for more youth housing. The result is positive, and this is the birth of the basic plan for a regional approach. In the end, Greystar's interest in this project was decisive. The American investor has already studied the campus concept in part of the plan

No new tenants can be found in the empty office building and parking lot in OurDomain. The area is not socially safe. For these reasons, it was decided to demolish these two buildings. The area seems to be fenced everywhere, and the public spaces are not well maintained. A bit desolate and inaccessible. The students also reported a sense of anonymity and insecurity. 

The main urban development goal of the area is to link functions, routes and surroundings with the campus. The public space was originally an unattractive place to stay and was the basis of the campus plan. The layout of the public space ensures the cohesion of the planning area, the community park and the entire medical park. Because community campuses have residential functions, high-quality public areas are essential. The unique characteristics of each of the three campus buildings reflect the diverse characteristics of the area with all independent office buildings. OZ chose to have three different partners responsible for each individual design. 

The architecture strengthens the relationship with the public space. The connection between the outdoor space and the ground of the three buildings is very important for creating a community. Openness is a key word reflected in the entire campus. Water and green plants no longer act as separate elements, but become connections. Bicycle and running routes are more complete than before. A continuous route connects the campus with subway stations, hospitals and other surrounding buildings. The planned route connects to a plaza with various functions and activities. Residents gather here, exercise or organize barbecues. The public functions on the pedestal are aimed at the residents of the community campus. 

Inserting three large housing areas (East Building, North Building and West Building) around the articulated park allows a recognizable living atmosphere in the main office location. These three blocks with independent signs are designed as cornerstones marking the boundaries of the park. Together with the two existing buildings that will be transformed into student dormitories and medical startups, the campus will grow into a key center of the region. The lush and attractive landscape designed by Karres en Brands adds clear topography to the park. The residual soil from the excavated underground parking lot was used to build small-scale hills that gave the local character, gave the area a strong character, and inspired people to use it.
